A suprisingly enjoyable experience

A couple weeks ago Tim called me and said, "I have a surprise for you. I got two tickets to Yanni." My response: "Who? Wait, the long haired indy-rock guy? Am I supposed to be excited?" Tim: "It's free. It will be fun." Well, I completely forgot about the concert until the day before we were supposed to go and needed a babysitter. We called Tim's best friend Taylor, and he quickly accepted the invitation. We drove to Salt Lake, dropped Mya off at Taylor's place and drove to the Delta Center. We were among the younger crowd to attend the concert. That surprised me. I actually had no idea what to expect at the concert. I guess I sorta expected a bunch of hippies swaying in rhythm. Oh no...the older generation was rockin' out to the aged musician.

The concert was surprisingly fun. I laughed at the audience. Got into the music. Enjoyed the vocal talent of his singers. Felt a little uncomfortable during a dance scene on top of the piano. And chuckled at the last song when Tim and I also stood to cheer on Yanni. We actually cheered him on. He was a funny performer. I had a great time with Tim. It was nice to have a date without Mya. (Is that bad to say?) I mean, we always take her with us to dinner and places but sometimes, it's peaceful to be alone.

Taylor and his helpers (thanks Tamisha and Dana) had an interesting night with Mya. Taylor later said, "It was good birth control." She was a little cranky that night and to be honest, I think she was confused by Taylor's long hair, beard and deep voice. Luckily for us, Dana knows how to hold cats and used his technique on Mya. By the time we got back to Mya, she was sleeping soundly on Taylor. Poor Taylor didn't want to move to get the controls fearing she would wake up. What a good sport. Thanks again.

During the concert, we met up with Josh and Lexy

A taste of the musical talent we saw. We got the tickets free thanks to the male singer. Apparently, he went to BYU once upon a time.
