An afternoon hayride

We went on a hayride to a pumpkin patch this afternoon. Mya loved everything about the farm: , the tractor, the pumpkins, and especially the dirt. She rolled in the dirt over and over again. It was funny to watch because I have never really seen her get dirty except when she is eating. Since dirt is hard to avoid on a farm, I just let her do her thing. She tried lifting so many pumpkins and struggled to lift even the smallest one. I think the shape was awkward for her. When we found the one...our pumpkin...she went and sat on it. I guess she was trying to stake her claim. There were quite a few families visiting the farm and not that many pumpkins. We found a big pumpkin that we will carve as a family in the coming weeks and a small pumpkin just for Mya. While we were searching for pumpkins, two horses came right up to the barbed-wire fence. I love horses. I don't think many people know that about me. I had a good friend in middle school who always invited me to her horse lessons. I loved straddling the beasts and allowing them to trot. If we ever have any land, I would love to own at least one horse. They are such beautiful creatures. Mya did not share my affection for the horses. Note the face she gives them as I brushed their manes. She squirmed and whined until they went away. I don't know why Mya doesn't like animals. She just doesn't. She likes them from a distance but when one gets close, she wants nothing to do with them.

I am so excited for Halloween. Mya is going to be Tinkerbell. I can hardly wait. I love that Mya is old enough to enjoy some of life's simple pleasures like pumpkins and hayrides.

  2. Bahaha! The picture of Mya sitting on the pumpkin is hilarious! All I know is, I wouldn't mess with that girl, no matter how badly I wanted that pumpkin Ü
