warmth without sunshine

Have you heard of The Shine Project? The creator is pretty sensational, and she is really sparking a fire inside me to serve others. Each week she gives her readers a weekly challenge. This week's challenge: If you could change one thing in the world, what would it be? This challenge inspired a lot of my writing this week...if you couldn't tell.

So what would I change? I would change the fact that every time I go downtown or visit Chicago, I see people curled up in corners in search of warmth. I really dislike being cold, and I hate knowing people suffer from the chilly winter air without coats, hats and gloves, especially when those people are children. It breaks my heart. So I want to give warmth to children who probably don't see a lot of real "sunshine" in their lives. I've already requested help with crocheting instructions and hope to make beanies to donate to shelters around the area. I doubt they'll be as cute as the one baby Mya's wearing above, but I promise they'll be warm. And that's all that matters.

What would you change?
