These boots were made for walkin...

Since I was raised a fan of country music and remain the sole fan in my current household, I think I am the only one who had the words of this song run through my head today as I watched Mya run around with her new boots. "These boots are made for walking, and that's just what they'll do one of these days these boots are gonna walk all over you." I am a lover of flat boots. I am not a fan of all the styles people combine with flat boots but must admit that they are quite possibly one of the best things in my closet. I love wearing boots with skirts. In fact, that is usually the only way I wear them. Today, I combined Mya's newly purchased boots with a cute shirt/dress and created a fashionista. Just the sight of her prompted smiles from strangers as we walked the Provo river trail and snapped some wonderful pictures. Just the sight of her in boots made my own heart warm knowing she may follow in her mom's footsteps. I guess her dad does own a pair of handsome boots too.

I love the following pictures. I relish in the fact that Mya still wants to hold our hands. I know those days are numbered. She is getting to be such a little lady. Although I think both Tim and I struggle knowing she is growing up. Tim still holds her like a baby before he puts her down. I still call her my little smooshy love bug. That nick name will definitely be tossed once she understands what it means. If it means anything at all. Mya turns 1 in two weeks. This has been the fastest year of my life. I can't believe her birthday is around the corner.

But for now, we are celebrating Tim's birthday. He turns 24 tomorrow. Happy Birthday Babe. You are the best looking 24 year old I know. I love Tim's birthday because I get to spoil him with wonderful treats. I already spoiled him with quite possibly the best birthday gift he (and his dad for that matter) could ever ask for. Tim will be attending a Michigan game in the Big House with his dad in the near future. You non-football fans may yawn at the idea of traveling to see a football game, but you just don't see the joy in Tim's face each time Michigan plays. I knew he would love to see them. I will be making the now traditional chocolate cake and two pies for Tim and anyone who wishes to join us tomorrow at 7:30. Yeah for birthdays. It is a great excuse to eat things you never allow yourself to eat other days. And just a little shout out to Ashley. Happy "Golden" Birthday. I am sad Bryan is not home to celebrate it with you. Have a great day.

I went back today and read your blog back when you first had Mya because I like to see how other people handled things. She's the most beautiful little girl. You guys do a great job with her.
