monday evening chatter

Sorry I am late again today. At least I am posting my chatter on the right day this week. I keep telling myself to get back into a routine with blogging, but for the moment I remain in a funk. The funk being directly related to my personal struggles to spend quality time with the girls when they are awake and getting the rest my body requires when they nap. So it's a daily fight.

How was your weekend? I doubt you spent as many frightful hours in your car as we did. We drove to Detroit and back in three days. It's about a seven hour drive each way...which truthfully used to be a cake walk for me in my single years but has turned into my personal hell over the past three years with children. V cried for more than half the drive; I considered multiple ways of committing suicide during the time. Somehow, we all survived.

Minus the driving, the trip was wonderful. We visited with family we hadn't seen in years and celebrated the soon-to-be arrival of Matt and Christa's little peanuts. They are having twin baby girls in July. I don't even know how you go from having no babies to two babies in an instant. Luckily, these two are amazing, and I am confident they will be great parents.

Brandon, Tim's cousin, got this picture of V and I. I thought it was going to turn out bad because in the corner of my eye I saw Tim motioning to my hair and whispering, "You look crazy." But the picture proved him wrong. While I am crazy, I don't look it in the shot.

I won't give you an entire travel log of our weekend, but suffice it to say that it was much needed. We really needed to be with family and escape Peoria. Enjoy my chatter:

I found this gem in the New York Times archives and fell in love with this scientist again: Albert Einstein dies at 76
I dated plenty of mama's boys in my day so I was interested to read this article: Mama's Boy Myth
My church held its annual general conference this past weekend, and this is my favorite address of what I've heard so far: Stop it!
I think I'll be wearing a lot of skirts this summer: Women's Tie-Back Shirt
I want one of these in my Easter basket: Chick Sock Puppets
Salads are all I want on these super warm spring days: Paula's Mozzarella and Tomato Salad
Tim picked the song this week. It reminds him of Mya because he found it while looking through pictures of Mya: Beautiful Girl
