some ice on a hot day

Last week was unseasonably hot here in Milwaukee and we were all a little stir crazy in our house so we decided to take a family field trip to the Petit Ice Arena. Tim and Mya enjoyed several laps around the rink before Mya had a meltdown, which sadly occurs at the end of every fun experience. The first time I took Mya skating she only lasted twenty minutes; I thought that was pretty amazing. She skated for forty minutes this time.

I am seriously considering putting her in skating lessons. She loves it (and I secretly do too). I wouldn't do it until after the baby comes because I would need to assist her in the first class, but it is weighing heavily on my mind. There are just a billion things I want Mya to experience, but I don't know how much the budget will allow.

We are going to head back to the rink before the baby comes because I found a pair of skates that fit V, and I am determined to squeeze her chubby feet into the boots and get her out on the ice. Can't you just see her sliding on the ice. I know the moment she falls she will try to lick or eat the ice, and I just might allow it.
