Today I turned down a part-time teaching position I was offered last week. I had to do it because it just didn't work out with my current job and while I wait for the day I can teach, I have to have an income. At first, I thought it would work with my current job, but then the principal told me I would teach every other day from 10:30-2:30. Smack in the middle of my day. And our busiest time with patients. I pitched the idea to my boss who is probably one of the most understanding people I know, and she said, "It's just bad timing. I want you to have this opportunity because I know how much you want to teach, but it is just bad timing." And realistically speaking, she is right. It would confuse the heck out of the students. I understand her position and would never want to jeopardize my job because everyone here has been great to me from the beginning. So I will put my teaching dreams on hold a little longer until we know our future plans.
I am bummed. I am going to let myself be bummed for a day and then I am going to move on. Because that's what I do. I know everything happens for a reason. I am just going to wait until I find the answer.
You have a great attitude about this Janine. Trust me...I know EXACTLY how you feel.
