turkey day-michigan style

We decided to forgo our normal Thanksgiving feast at home and head to Michigan to spend time with Tim's family. It was quite the experience. 26 people showed up on Thanksgiving afternoon to partake of the delicious food prepared by everyone. We somehow squeezed into the family room and were able to pass the tasty dishes around the table instead of doing it buffet style. It was quite the feat, but it worked. We had so much fun visiting with new people and old friends as we dined. Later in the weekend we celebrated with more of Tim's extended family as we watched the Michigan/Ohio State game. Michigan broke the 7-year losing streak...thank goodness...because we would've had a lot of grumpy men around the house if they would've lost. And I don't like grumpy men. Who does? Anyway, the weekend was wonderful.

Before we left, Mya and I made a homemade apple pie. I needed to make the pie crust without Mya and her hair so I gave her two cups of flour and told her to make her own crust. She did well for a few minutes and then decided flour was much more fun outside of the bowl. I agreed. And it was an easy cleanup.

Mya is all about bandaids right now (or as she calls them "bambaids"). They are her cure all and believe me sometimes they do fix everything...even an accidental bump with a cousin.

V has been crawling for months. She walks around things but cannot do it alone. She prefers to stand now so this is what we do a lot of these days.

Guess who is our hungry hippo? Yep...my little mama. She loved Thanksgiving more than any other guest. Can you tell?

I am so tired of the same pictures we take every year so I carried my camera around and tried to get other angles. I was proud of the sweet moments I caught of Tim and V and Mya and GiGi.
