I've been trying to teach Mya about chores. While we have a lot of fun completing the tasks, I can't say she has been much of a help yet. When I taught her how to scrub the kitchen floor, she spilled her spray bottle of water everywhere. When I taught her how to wash dishes, she dropped the soap on the floor creating a bubbly mess. When I taught her to clean the toilet, she emptied the entire container of toilet cleaner into the toilet and then played in the blue water. And yesterday when I taught her to remove the lint from the dryer tray, she dropped an animal magnet down the chute. We, and when I say we...I really mean Tim, spent nearly two hours taking our dryer apart last night in an attempt to retrieve the toy out of the motor. He succeeded. Again I learned a valuable life lesson: sometimes our best plans backfire, but it doesn't mean you should stop trying.
And as a side note: Tim was so impressed with his skills that he is considering changing careers. If this ever happens to you, you'll know who to call.
