monday morning chatter

Oh gosh...I can't believe it's already time to wake up. The little peanuts had a really rough night last night which meant I hardly slept a wink. I swear V cried for close to three and a half hours last night and anytime I attempted to put her back in her crib, she would squirm and squeal like a little piggy. Her screams woke Mya up multiple times. Let's just say...I never found my perfect REM cycle. Tim isn't feeling well this morning so I am trying to peel my eyes open to stay awake while he naps. Wish me luck.

Yesterday, Mya graduated to a big girl class at church. Doesn't she look so grown up? No more nursery for that feisty peanut. Being in a "big kid" class means no more toys and no more treats. I was really worried she wouldn't like the change, and I was right. Tears streamed down those chunky cheeks for the first hour. She kept peeking around her seat to look at me, and it just broke my heart. I wanted to run to over and scoop her up, but I knew that would only cause more problems so I forced myself into statue-mode and pretended not to see her tears. Bad mom of the year award goes to....me. Her new teacher reassured me that she did much better during the second hour.

V also had a monumental day yesterday. She took 13 steps all by herself. We've been working with her for the past week and on average she takes 3-5 steps, but 13? We were so impressed. We all looked on cheering her every step. Too bad we weren't quick enough with the camera. Maybe next time.

Even though I am exhausted and totally worn out because of my hard night, I can't help smiling at my two peanuts this morning. I am so proud of them. They, with help from their incredibly handsome dad, really make this life worth living. I hope you have a sensational week.
