a different kind of silence

Sometimes I forget life is happening outside of my neutral-colored walls. This afternoon as I sat in my peaceful silence, thousands of others in the east endured a different kind of silence. An eerie kind of silence. Millions lost power. Thousands lost their homes. Some lost their lives.

Their worlds have now been turned upside down. My hope is that everyone will rise above this disaster and that they will be generous and kind as they pick up the pieces. It looks like it might take awhile.

This house is praying for the people afflicted by the storm.
