The first snow of the season is always so exciting...until it's not...you know...snow is never that exciting for parents...what with all the snow gear that gets tossed around the house...and all the snow and ice that gets all over the place and melts into heaping puddles, soaking my socks left and right...you know...you get it...right?!
But seriously, the first snow of the season is so exciting for the kids! They came home from school, tore my closet apart, throwing snow boots and gloves every which way and were out the door again all geared up to play within minutes of being home. It was a whirlwind, and while I'd like to lie and tell you I was an amazing sport about the whole thing, I really wasn't after the first 20 minutes. But I tried, and I don't think they realized my distaste for the whole thing, so I succeeded.
And let's just discuss the fact that it's only November, and it's freezing, and I already feel the winter blues sinking in. I'm just not ready for the looooonnnnng winter months.
