Enjoying the first days of real summer

The rain is finally gone. I am not sure if it is gone for good, but we have been having some really warm days lately. Our house is so hot because we haven't turned our air on because turning it on literally does nothing. Our owner is supposed to be working on that. So, for the time being...we live with the windows open and fans on to stay alive. Yesterday was particularly warm and after we mowed the lawn at Moon Apartments (for the last time thank goodness), all we wanted was to jump in a pool. Luckily, Rusty and Whitney invited us to their pool and we enjoyed a nice dip in the rather cold pool. Mya didn't like the cold water at first but grew to like it by the end. She never grew to like the never-ending splashing by the other kids at the pool. This was surprising because Mya always takes showers and is used to the water in her face. I am not sure why she had such a hard time. After the pool we went to our stake's annual "Fiesta" and ate a Spanish food potluck. I brought tres leches because I have always wanted to learn how to make it and this gave me the perfect opportunity. All in all...it was a great start to our summer. More pool days to come.

Motorboat, motorboat, go so slow...motorboat, motorboat go so fast...motorboat, motorboat step on the gas! Who remembers this fun water activity. Mya loves it.

  1. Wow! I just got all caught up on your blog. Congrats on the new job at the hygiene school. I'm going to warn you right now that girls in hygiene school are at the most emotional point of their entire lives. At least thats how it was at our school. Everyone wa crying a lot! Hopefully Utah won't have the amount of crazy patients that were available in Phoenix though.
