The beginning of a relaxing weekend

The flexibility of children astounds me. Not just the way they can bend in all directions (although Mya can do all sorts of tricks), but the way they just roll with things that come up. Mya has been adjusting well to the new schedule we put her on for her babysitters. It was a little hard at first to miss a nap or two, but we have started making her nap schedule different. Mya is just so flexible. I wish I could do all that she does. Speaking of flexibility, Tim took some great pictures of Mya before she woke up this morning. I would say that anyone over a year old would wake up with a serious back ache. Not Mya.

After running some much needed errands, we took some friends of ours to the nearby pool. Cameron and Savannah love Mya and were so excited to entertain her at the pool. Sadly, Mya was a little tired and not in the mood for the pool and all the splashing after about 15 minutes. Cameron and Savannah decided to run Tim ragged. They chased him and "arrested" him several times. Tim is pooped now. As we drove away from the pool, Tim said, "I am always going to be worn out when we have older kids." True. He is always running around with them. We had a great time playing in the water and going down the slides.

I also was able to see one of my favorite people in this world: Jari. Jari and I have a special and unique relationship that I cherish. We can go for months without talking mostly because we are terrible phone talkers and when we do catch up, we can talk about anything and everything. It is always uplifting to talk to her. I wish she lived here. She doesn't. She lives across the country and I miss her so much.

  1. Thanks so much for inviting me to join you. It was a wonderful afternoon. I wish we could have said the same about the following day. Sorry again for the lame trip. It looks like you guys had lots of fun anyway. That shows just how flexible you two really are! I'm so glad I got to see you while we were in town. I've missed you like crazy.
