Tim used to teach an Easter lesson about how we are a lot like colorful eggs that used to be beautifully white but over time we become colored from many of life's experiences. He would teach the kids that Easter is important because it allowed us, like the eggs to be peeled and become white again through Jesus Christ.
I've always loved that lesson. He didn't teach it because we decided to focus on other aspects of Easter, but I always think of it when we dye eggs. Tim was home on Good Friday, and we spent the morning coloring eggs together. We have moments, like anyone, where we need space from each other, but all this time we've spent together has actually been really lovely.
