Well, waiting wasn't hard because we were busy on Tuesday night with Tim's ward basketball games. Here's the honest truth: Our ward is terrible. Some guy asked Tim what he should do when he got the ball. See...bad. They didn't win a single game in the regular season so they started out in the last seed of the stake tournament. Only five guys showed up, so I didn't think we had a prayer seeing as we were playing the Spanish branch. The only thing I can say about that team is that they have a lot of "animo." Or they are a really excited bunch of guys. And they bring 20 guys with them. So they can sub in and out as they please. Not our team. Our guys played the whole game. With three minutes left in the game, our team was down 10 points. Somehow they managed to make up 9 points. They fouled a guy with 5 seconds left. He missed his free throw on a 1-and-1. Tim grabbed the ball and ran his heart and my heart out to the other end of the court where he threw the ball up in the air and somehow...HE MADE IT. He hit a three at the buzzer and won by two. Wow. I am pretty sure some of the guys from the Spanish branch will never attend church again. Okay, I might be exaggerating a little, but they looked a little distraught. I didn't get to see the second game. Let's just say we lost by 20. Oops. Tim was pooped after the first game and seeing as our team completely relies on Tim, well, what can you say? I really think Tim scored 30 points out of the 47 they had to beat the Spanish branch.
Stress. It almost killed me that night. Then it crept back when we went to the Jazz game on Wednesday and thought we had the game in the bag. It was a much closer game than expected. The Jazz were even down by 13 at one point in the game. I think they just wanted to kill me. Or Jerry. Poor Jerry Sloan. Basketball has made him age much faster than one should. The stress continued throughout the week as we watched the short track races and the final women's skate. I will not lie, I do not agree with the scores that were given to the women skaters. I also will admit that I cried with Scott Hamilton each time Joannie from Canada skated. She deserved her medal.
I am sad but glad that the Olympics are almost over. I don't know that I can handle much more stress. I am posting pictures of the Jazz game and other random pictures we took throughout the week. Thanks to our friend Eric, we have had a lot of fun taking pictures of Mya in low light settings. He taught us so much in a 10 minute period. Thanks.
Our seats
Korver (while I don't have a crush on Korver like most the women in Utah, it was fun to see him up close.)
So this picture is really old but is worth posting because Tim and I took a night trip to Park City in October without Mya. It was a magical night. No interruptions. Mya stayed home with her favorite sitters and our good friends, Kyle and Ellie.
You guys always have such fun stuff planned . . . I totally cried too when Scott Hamilton got choaked up about Rochette!
