We appreciate all that Cathy did for us this weekend. Probably more than she knows. Tim and I don't date much. Why you might ask? Well, finding people to watch Mya within their busy schedules is a little hard. We finally found a couple that we think we will be able to trade with, but it is different leaving Mya with a sitter than it is with a grandma. Grandma took Mya to the park a couple of times, the zoo once, and the even the bakery once. Lucky girl. Lucky us. This allowed us to have some time to ourselves. It was nice to be together in a quiet "non-Mya" setting.
We took several pictures of the zoo, but I know we just posted pictures of the Fort Worth Zoo a few months back, and the pictures aren't much different. I only posted two of the pictures from the zoo. The first one because I wanted to show everyone Mya's favorite means of transportation and the second to show how much she loved the monkeys on this visit to the zoo. The monkey came right up and tapped on the window. He looked at Mya; Mya looked at him. Love at first sight. Or maybe the monkey was in love with the banana in Mya's hand. And maybe Mya thought the monkey was a bear. Who knows?

On our final day together, I took a half day at work. I can't even tell you how much I needed that. Cathy and I went to Home Depot and bought some pots and herbs to begin my first garden. I have always wanted to have a garden but don't know a thing about plants or flowers. Honestly, I am clueless. Every plant I tried to help my mom grow died in the burning Arizona heat. We gave up on gardens early on in my teenage years. Cathy helped me plant the herbs in pots. A guy at Home Depot even gave me a free tomato plant. My goal is to grow herbs, tomatoes and bell peppers. I don't have any ground to plant the veggies, so everything has to be planted in a pot. This limits how much I can grow, but I am excited for this new adventure. I think it will give me something to look forward to as silly as that might sound.

Thanks for the great narrative and the fantastic photos. Sounds like a great week - wish I was there! Or wish you all were here...hoping to see you all soon!
ReplyDeleteThe garden looks amazing. I love fresh herbs like none other. It makes all the difference in the world when cooking.
ReplyDeleteAnd I can't believe that she said "lud you." I can't believe it! She is such a sweetie pie. Does the magic ever end?

I would be HAPPY to watch Mya for you! Check with me when you need someone silly. Besides Kylee wanted her to be her sister...with her dark hair and her dark skin! LOL! I am excited to see how your container garden goes. The deer came and devoured mine last year...damn deer! You have inspired me to at least try again to grow some herbs.
ReplyDeleteSo that pie looks amazing! can I have that recipe? you are such a great cook mrs. Doot.
ReplyDeleteSo random story. I was at the airport on Thursday morning and saw Tim's mom, or at least I think it was her. I'm almost positive. Weird.
