New Series: Comfortable in your own skin

A few weeks ago I had a conversation with a close friend who revealed she was not comfortable with who she was as a person. My friend is quite a bit older than I am and has had many years to work with her personal "flaws" but has chosen not to because the process seemed too hard and overwhelming. This made me think. I admit that change is not easy. In fact, it is sometimes very painful and awkward, but I feel change is necessary if we are to become someone extraordinary. I love the quote: "It takes courage to grow up and become who you really are."

I have asked a few exceptional women in my life to write a little blurb about what it means to them to be comfortable in their own skin. As the last few essays trickle in, I thought I would open this topic to you. If you would like to write something that you feel might inspire someone, even if that someone is you, please email me at janinedoot{at}gmail.com. I will be posting an essay every few days as I receive them. I hope you will learn from these women as I have.

  1. I'm excited about this series. Can't wait to read them all. It's a topic that I think most can relate with for one reason or another. Thanks for doing this!
