monday evening chatter

(grumpy traveling faces)

Good evening. I feel like I have been MIA. It's partly true. I believe my body has been living and breathing, but my brain has been on auto-pilot for the past five days. It shut off right after we boarded the plane to Utah. That first airport adventure really took it out of me which made for an interesting weekend since we were basically booked from sun up to sun down each day.

I was hit with a wave of emotions when we left the hotel Thursday morning and saw the snow-tipped mountains right in front of us. As we visited friends and walked around our old neighborhood, I felt a dull ache in my heart. I missed Utah. I missed the people I would wave to on my way to work. I craved the restaurants unique to Utah. I yearned to play hand and foot or pass the pigs with friends that would stay until midnight. I wanted to stay at work a little longer just to gossip like the good old days. I missed nearly everything from my memories. While I am pretty content with my present, it was nice to be reminded of all the little things that made me love my past.

You may be wondering about the wedding we attended...well, it went off without a hitch. The bride was beautiful. The groom was calm. They looked more relaxed and comfortable than I had ever seen them. Congratulations Paul and Anna. I hope you are having the time of your life in Park City. Eat some yummy caramel apples for me.

My late monday chatter to peak your interest:
The man who said “I wanted a bookstore because the book business is the business of life” dies at the age of 98: George Whiteman
The workout that just kicked our trash: P90X
The treat I still can't believe we didn't eat while in Utah: Apple Pie
Some easy ornament ideas: Button Ornament
My preferred book at the moment: The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Society
This week's spacey Christmas tune: Hue and Hum: Angels we have heard on high

I'm sorry I've been away. It feels like forever since I've written, but we didn't have great internet access in Utah. I've missed you. I hope you've missed me.
