a few hours at the milwaukee state fair

I didn't frequent the state fair a lot as a child but find myself oddly drawn to them as an adult. If I didn't have children or a dark love for pastries, I doubt I'd spend a dollar inside the gates because I am always perfectly satisfied watching people. You see all kinds of people at the state fair and for the most part--most of them are enjoying themselves and their deep-fried turkey leg a little too much.

Last night we went to the Milwaukee State Fair. We had heard so much about it that we felt it would be a shame to miss out on the experience. We decided to eat a healthy dinner prior to going and only indulge on a few treats--a homemade corndog, deep fried oreos and an extra large cream puff. Mya wasn't interested in the food; she only cared about the rides. She loved it. After she woke up from her nap today, she ran out of her room and hugged my leg and thanked me for her great surprise last night. That hug made the dent in my wallet a little less visible.
