oh monday.

oh monday. you always come too soon. why is it that i wait all week for the weekend and for some reason the weekend passes in a blink of an eye allowing monday to rear its ugly head much too quickly? i seriously live for the weekend, and now i have to wait another long five days to enjoy it again. bummer. at least this next weekend is a holiday weekend so i'll get an extra day to cuddle a little longer with tim in bed and wrestle with the peanuts when i should be doing chores.

we enjoyed the company of wisconsin cheeseheads in green bay this weekend. we played and laughed at bay beach, a quaint amusement park in the heart of town. each ride cost $.25 or $.50. we spent all day in the warm sun and only spent a mere $7.25. more pictures to come (i've been a little lazy about uploading pictures lately).

i've had a few things on my mind this morning and thought i'd record them before my very pregnant brain forgets them. enjoy my random thoughts...and happy monday (if there ever was such a thing).

  • yesterday i taught tim how to trim mya's hair. i've been trimming it since her birth and thought it would be a good idea to educate tim on the ways of girls' hair just in case something ever happened to me. i give him these little lessons from time to time and although he thinks i'm totally crazy in the head, i think it provides excellent bonding time.
  • the stars and gods aligned today to allow me an extra hour of sleep. even though the buzzer sounded at 5:25 as usual, i was able to go back to bed after making tim's lunch and reading some chapters of my favorite book. it still seems like a dream.
  • two things about v lately: 1. she bites hard. she only has a handful of teeth but boy do they leave unwanted marks on my legs and arms. grrr. 2. she also gives the best hugs. while she does give them freely when requested, my preferred hugs are the spontaneous ones. the ones where she runs from across the room to squeeze the life from my neck. i'll have a side order of those any day.
  • no baby yet...obviously. the baby is apparently low but will probably stew inside my stuffed belly for a few more weeks. i haven't gained weight since the middle of july but somehow the baby is growing. i feel tight and stretched in places i didn't know were possible, but i've actually been feeling more energy recently.
  • two things about mya: 1. she is really starting to sound words out. we were in a bathroom stall and she tried to read the naughty word scribbled on the door. i stopped her before she had the chance, but i am really enjoying this new teaching phase. 2. i found her asleep standing up the other night. i couldn't believe it. i was frequenting the bathroom as i usually do and peeked in the girls' room and saw her just standing there leaning next to the head of her bed. crazy girl.
  • all i want lately is ice cold pepsi and a slice of lime.
  • i've never been a decorator but have found myself searching for easy, cheap decorations for the baby's room. we'll see if i actually have the will power to follow through on the projects.
  • i ate the most delicious sandwich over the weekend which i am determined to recreate after thanksgiving when i have tons of left over turkey. the sandwich: turkey/cranberry melt on zucchini bread.
  • my kids are no longer in the activity i had them working on and are currently running circles around me, which means it's time for me to say goodbye.
