these eyes

This pair of eyes watches my every move. They watch me shovel cereal in my mouth for lunch at 2pm, frantically clean the kitchen before daddy comes home, discipline her sisters, play "gotch you" multiple times a day, pretend to sleep, etc. She is attached to me; the doctor says she already has stranger anxiety. We'll have to work on that one because the moment she sleeps better at night, I am going to leave her with a babysitter.

I love this wild child. I adore the way she looks at me knowing I sustain her little life. My favorite time with her is the few minutes we get alone together after I nurse. Usually the other girls are out of the room and it is just me and her and lots of wet nose kisses. Although I wish she'd sleep through the night, I do love the time after my night feedings when all I see are two bright eyes staring lovingly at me.

I love how alert she is to the small world around her. Her sisters are her main form of entertainment when I happen to slip out of the room. She spreads that gummy smile ear to ear the moment they play peek-a-boo with her. I have no doubt that things can only continue to get happier from here on out.
