Last week was spring break here in Elkhart. We opted to stay home and do simple things within driving distance from our house so we didn't have to find anyone to look after the dogs (dogs can be such a pain when one wants to travel!). We visited a few parks, our local zoo and Ann Arbor. Only Genevieve had been to Ann Arbor previously, and it was so fun to show our kids around a small part of the University of Michigan. For a long time, I'm fairly confident our kids thought we both graduated from Michigan because we hardly ever talk about BYU, but I squashed those thoughts this past summer when I introduced them to BYU and told them lots of different stories from my time there.
It would be a dream of mine that one of my kids (or I...perhaps for a Master's degree) could go to Michigan. I honestly didn't know a thing about the school before marrying Tim, but I have learned so much about their programs over the years that I really believe anyone is lucky to go there. While in Ann Arbor we not only visited the campus, but we also enjoyed time at the children's museum and ate donuts at Dimo's Donuts and Deli, which I'd highly recommend on any visit to Ann Arbor (the guy in charge is a bit gruff, but I have a thing for gruff, old men so I rather enjoyed him).
