Eat your heart out

Tonight we celebrated our third annual turkey dinner with sixteen of our friends and family. This year...we are grateful for our house. We actually had enough room this year to sit around a table. It definitely made for a cozier experience. Tim and I decided to make this year different than our last two years as we sent out invitations, decorated the house with holiday decor and put up Christmas lights. It was so fun. The food was just as good if not better than the previous years. The company was delightful. We even had an activity this year. We made little turkeys out of Oreos, Reeses, malt balls and candy corn. You will see pictures below. We want to thank all our guests. You made the night great. Thanks for all your hard work on the food and for your company. I really enjoyed myself. Just so you know...don't miss our museum post below. Mya's face is precious. You'll see what I mean.

Mya helped me make my first pumpkin pie (I love having a daughter. I can't wait to teach her to cook and bake.)
Our newly decorated mantel
Even though it was still pretty light out, you can see the Christmas lights Tim and Rusty put up. What would we do without Rusty?
Our 24 lb. turkey. I remind you that Mya only weighs 18 lbs. 5 ounces.
The food

How many guys does it take to cut a 24 lb. bird? Apparently four.

The activity: Oreo turkeys (Thanks Jamie...I totally stole the idea from your blog.)

The aftermath. Very little turkey left.
