Ugly sweater parties have become surprisingly popular in recent years. We have been to at least one party a year for the last couple years. This year we went to two. And even though I think I cannot see another outlandish Christmas sweater, every year I am amazed at the outfits people put together. Tim and I went to a department store and walked directly over to the "older lady" section and found the least desirable turtlenecks known to mankind and yet they still cost $6.99 ON SALE. We purchased the silly things because a) I was tired and didn't want to keep looking and b) Tim looks so delicious in bird designs. I want to know who pays full price for the awful things. Poor ladies. This is when commission should not sway a purchase. Those turtlenecks would never look good on anyone. Not even an innocent older woman lacking style or taste. Just say no.
We were lucky enough to borrow some sweaters from our friends in Salt Lake when we attended their party. I must say it is my favorite party of the year. I was a little bummed this year when I realized the party would be held outside and karaokee was out of the question. I loved that last year. Anyways, it was still fun, and we were able to visit with some of our good friends. Can't wait until next year! What are you doing to celebrate? Any service rendered? Any goodie plates anonymously delivered? I would love to hear about it.
The first two pictures are of our friends from Salt Lake. Our camera was out of battery, so we had to use Tim's iPhone.

Me, Tim, Dana, Raz, 1/2 of Taylor's head

Tim, Taylor and I (Taylor wore one piece pajamas. Classy. I still chuckle about it.)
These last few pictures are of our most recent party in Provo. Thanks Tiff. I love all the pictures.

Notice our sweaters. Eeeh. Mya has the cutest sweater. It comes with little black pants. My grandma bought it for her. I just love the outfit and can't wait for her to wear it on Christmas. Yeah!

Oh. My. Gosh. The turtle necks were worth every nickel. I laughed so hard!
ReplyDeleteand you still look beautiful despite the turtle neck....you pull it off a little too good! :)
ReplyDeleteTaylor is hilarious! And, I can definitely see why you guys won with the turtlenecks:)
ReplyDeleteAt first glance at you two in the turtlenecks, I totally thought you were doing the Argentine sign where you shake your thumb while it's touching your pointer and middle finger as if to say "Que es eso??" Can you picture it? lol
